Hardwood Care Plans

Your Floors Deserve the Best Care
At Totta Hardwoods, we believe maintenance is just as important as installation. When longevity matters, regular deep cleaning helps protect your floors and extend their life.

Life Happens on Your Floors
A lot of life is lived on your hardwood floors. Over time, they can lose their luster and show signs of wear. With floors as unique as your home, proper care helps protect them from everyday use.

Routine Cleaning Isn't Enough
Sweeping and mopping help with surface care, but they cannot remove deeply embedded dirt and buildup. Without professional equipment, deep cleaning often leaves residue behind and adds another task to an already busy schedule.

Totta Hardwoods Has the Solution
Our maintenance packages remove the hassle of floor care. Using commercial grade equipment and clean water throughout the process, we extract dirt and grime effectively, leaving your floors clean, refreshed, and comfortable underfoot.

Yes! First step is understanding that the main cause of squeaky floors is movement. There are typically three (3) reasons movement occurs in your floor.

  1. Seasonal Movement - Floors expand and shrink with season change due to a lack of or too much humidity. This expanding and shrinking loosens flooring boards and will cause squeaks between flooring boards or within the fastener and subfloor.
  2. Subfloor Issues - Subfloor issues are common culprits of squeaky floor and should be addressed before new flooring is installed. Here are some common subfloor issues:
    1. Out of level subfloor
    2. Spacing between the subfloor and joists
    3. Subfloor seams off center with joists
    4. Improper subfloor material.
  3. Fasteners - Improperly fastening a floor is a sure way to cause squeaks. If the flooring is not installed with the proper fastener schedule (spacing between fastener) or wrong size fastener your floor will loosen and squeak. Over seating a fastener will also create squeaks when fastener pushes through the bottom of the board separating it from the subfloor

While we recommend getting your floors regularly maintained every quarter (3 Months), at a minimum, you should have your floors deep cleaned once a year to ensure their longevity.
